Bangkok,  Mon Village on Koh Kret Island

Day 1 Bangkok – Pathumthani

13.00 hr.     Depart from the Oriental pier near the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Bangkok and cruise up north along the Chao Praya River passing various Bangkok’s riverside landmarks.

17.30 hr.     Stop at Pathumthani fresh market to explore a way of life of local people.

18.00 hr.     Continue to Wat Kai Tia

18.30 hr.     Arrive at Wat Kai Tia, a riverside Buddhist temple, for overnight stop.

19.30 hr.     Dinner and overnight onboard the Mekhala

Day 2 Pathumthani – Koh Kret – Bangkok

 06.00 hr.    In the early morning, alms offering to the monks at Wat Kai Tia.

06.30 hr.   Enjoy breakfast while cruising back to Bangkok.

10.00 hr.   Arrive at Ko Kret Island. Explore the history of ethnic Mon community and witness its unique culture and craftsmanship of clay pottery. Take part in a pottery making class with local artisan. You can buy some local sweets to eat on board. Return to the boat for lunch. Continue cruising to Wat Chalermprakiat to visit a royal temple built in the early 19th century and located on the riverside.

16.00 hr.   Arrive at the Oriental pier in Bangkok
